The rumours were out in force yesterday that struggling UK-based developer, Free Radical, were on the verge of being bought out by German development studio Crytek; producers of the Crysis series. Well, the rumour became reality earlier today as Crytek officially officially announced that it was indeed moving to purchase the remains of the bankrupt studio and will reportedly retain the services of the remaining forty-strong workforce.
Hopefully this means there is still a chance of Timesplitters 4 appearing somewhere down the line, but as yet nothing has been announced regarding the status of any of Free Radical’s intellectual property holdings.
