Nintendo is once again back on top of their game, offering up another threesome of downloadable goodness. So what is on the docket for this week? How about another interesting take on snowboarding, a brain numbing puzzle game and another dip into the SEGA Master System’s legacy of greatness. Here is what you can expect to see:
WiiWare
Snowboard Riot – For those who can’t seem to get enough snowboarding in their life, the developers over at Hudson Entertainment have heard your prayers. Going back to the well first tapped by Shawn White Snowboarding, Snowboard Riot revisits the idea of a Wii Balance Board based control, in more bite-sized nuggets of gaming goodness. The game will be available for purchase for 1000 Nintendo Points ($10.00).
Still on the fence? Here is some gameplay footage to help you decide:
LONPOS – This is a game that has been available in Japan since WiiWare launched and is now making its first appearance on the North American shores. LONPOS is based on a classic board game of the same name that once again finds a unique use for the Wiimote. If you want to increase the cranium challenge, there is a mode that will allow up to four players to play at once. The game will be available for purchase for 800 Nintendo Points ($8.00). Here is a gameplay video if you are so inclined:
Virtual Console
Sonic Chaos – Everybody loves a trip down memory lane, and once again, SEGA doesn’t disappoint. Pulling the last Sonic game ever to appear on the Master System, this is the kind of gem that reminds you what it was like to be a kid again. Whether you faught against Dr. Robotnik or Dr. Eggman, this is sure to be an enjoyable 8-bit romp that will entertain both young and old. The game will be available for purchase for 500 Nintendo Points ($5.00).
It looks like there is a little something for everyone this week. When Nintendo pulls out all of the stops, it is fun to be a Wii gamer. What are you hoping to see next?
