Lost and Damned Controversy

4 Comments 18 February 2009 | Tags: , , ,

GTA’s downloadable content, The Lost and Damned (our extensive review here), has begun stirring up some heated controversy only one day after release. This time it’s not because of Rockstar’s actions, nor is it because of the flaccid penis we’ve talked about previously, it’s because of the MA15+ rating that the Australian Board of Classification has granted the expansion.

As reported on Edge-Online, “Critics say that the strong similarities between GTAIV and The Lost and Damned add-on casts light on the disparity at the Australian classification group, a body which had initially refused classification for a number of high profile games such as Silent Hill: Homecoming and Fallout 3.

Yet the Board’s handling of the matter may be advocated by the fact that its GTA IV information page clearly shows that the title hasn’t ever been refused classification. Rockstar had censored the content before showing it to the classification board and the game was granted submission on its first attempt.”

gtaivladIt’s a shame there are such strict guidelines in the Outback, ’cause Lost and Damned is one that you do not want to miss out on! Anyone else think the Australian government is bunk on games?

    i love my government!

  3. I think the conversation on the Evilcast about the issues in this article was excellent and I'm in total agreement. There's sometimes I wish parents would just be responsible and stfu. We live in a society of complainers.
