indy_4whipAfter a concept trailer leaked onto the internet a few weeks ago, LucasArts has now confirmed that they do have a new Indiana Jones title in the works, scheduled for release in Late Spring 2009.  Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings is in development for the Nintendo Wii and DS, as well as Sony’s PSP and PS2. (Yes PS2, not PS3.)  If you’re in any way interested in checking out this game, it looks like the version to play will be on the Wii.

Not only will the Wii Remote function like Indy’s signature whip, but only the Wii version will contain Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis as unlockable content.  Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis is another classic game in the franchise, originally debuting for the PC in June 1992.

In all versions of Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings players will explore exotic locations around the world, while looking for the Staff of Moses.  Gameplay will include some intense activities like flying a biplane through a canyon, escaping from a collapsing temple, rafting down a river, and riding a wild elephant through Istanbul.  Co-op gameplay will be available so friends can team up to take down baddies.  A four-player versus mode will also unlockable, allowing players to face off in biplane combat or take each other on in tanks.
