If you weren’t lucky enough to have won one of our early release Halo Wars Demo download codes, you can now experience a taster of the game for yourself. Coming in at 1.4Gb the download is hardly trivial but, considering the time we’ve had to wait, it’s worth it. The demo allows you to play through the first two missions of the campaign as well as take on the Covenant in a 1v1 skirmish match.
One of our competition winners, Gamertag: Babulu, had this to say:
“The menu is very like Halo 3, with the same design and style; mimicking the clean, well organized feel. The music is the first thing that grabs you, it’s absolute amazing and that is carried over to gameplay itself. Overall the sounds, music and the voice acting are much better performed than Halo 3.
The graphics are clean and very detailed, the explosions and particle effects are very well made.
The game-play is like Age of Empires in style, but with visible improvements. There are optional secondary missions, taking away any chance to get bored. Control system is intuitive and actions are easy to perform on the 360 controller. It’s a pleasure to play the game while relaxing on your couch.
Overall the game looks very good, easy to perform actions with the controller, and has marvelous sound and music.”
Let us know you think of the demo and whether you expect the full game to live up to its lofty expectations.
