Brought to us by Zen Studios, a videogame developer and digital publisher known for their innovative arcade and action games, No Mercy is being handled by true fans of the comic, so fanboys need not worry. “The ZEN developers are huge Marvel fans, and the Punisher is certainly one of our favorite characters,” said Zsolt Kigyossy, CEO of ZEN Studios. “With No Mercy, we’re creating gameplay unlike anything else found on PSN. This includes unique features like character-specific taunts, many of which were pulled directly from the comics.”
Using the power of the Unreal Engine 3, Punisher: No Mercy is designed for fast-paced online multiplayer first person shooting. Inspired by The Punisher’s rich Marvel Comics history, the game will include battle arenas that span shipyards rife with contraband, to the birthplace of the Punisher’s archenemy, Jigsaw. Players will be able to choose from both old allies and villains of the Punisher to battle with, making this a Marvel/FPS fan’s dreams come true.
In addition to the online play, No Mercy will also feature a single-player story mode with exclusive artwork from acclaimed Marvel artist Mike Deodato. Talk about exclusive content! These shots look absolutely amazing! Being a comic book fan myself, particularly a Punisher fan, I can say that not only am I excited about No Mercy, but after seeing these shots, I’m ecstatic! I can’t wait to start punishin’ some fools!
Punisher: No Mercy will drop later this spring exclusively for the PlayStation Network. Being the Marvel fans that we are, we’ll be keeping a very close eye on No Mercy as we near the launch. We can’t wait!
