Ludlum Entertainment (holders of the rights to all works by author Robert Ludlum) has signed an agreement with Electronic Arts giving the publisher the exclusive license to create games based on Ludlum novels, including the Jason Bourne series. EA have confirmed that work is already underway on the first Jason Bourne game to come out of this deal, and is being developed in Sweden by Starbreeze Studios – developers of the upcoming Chronicles of Riddick: Assualt on Dark Athena.
“EA is excited to enter into a long-term relationship with Ludlum Entertainment, bringing the action, intrigue and intensity of Robert Ludlum’s fiction to life for casual and core gamers around the globe.” said Mike Quigley, group vice president of marketing for EA Games.
The past has shown EA is not shy in getting the most out of its licenses, so Bourne fans should probably expect many a game based on the action hero to appear with annual regularity in the future.
