While many gamers are focusing on Bad Company 2, the Battlefield franchise continues paving the way with new games. The latest announcement comes in the form of Battlefield 1943 coming to a PC near you Winter of ’09, as well as the PlayStation Store and Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
Using the same Frostbite engine, Battlefield 1943 takes players back to WWII. The game should offer endless hours of 24 player multiplayer action over three classic and tropic locations; Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. Delivering the award-winning through-the-gun and vehicle warfare online experience DICE is best recognized for, Battlefield 1943 will have players battling in ruthless aerial dog fights and intense trench combat.
Yet another shooter we are going to have to keep an eye on. With so many great things Battle Field has brought to the genre, every announcement should bring joy to any gamers heart.
