California Congressman, Joe Baca, who has a long history of targeting videogames with legislation, is about to push for a bill that would include adding a warning on videogames that is similar to those found on packs of cigarettes.

According to GamePolitics, the bill “creates a new rule within the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which forces games with a Teen rating or higher to be sold with a simple warning label, reading: WARNING: Excessive exposure to violent video games and other violent media has been linked to aggressive behavior.”

While we all know that games don’t cause violent behavior, Congress does too, seeing how Baca has proposed several videogame-oriented bills over the years and none have passed. Yet another Jack Thompson clone shouting “Games Are Evil!”

BS law. Videogames have never been linked to violence. lol

  2. Blomkål says:

Shouldn’t that apply to movies and even music too? I know for one, that a lot of the comments on music on YouTube is something like “This song is so awesome, just wants to make me smash things!!!”

  3. harrykid32 says:

Hah, been playing video games since I was 6…..I wouldn’t hurt a leaf….

  4. ChrisWanker says:

It should say, “Warning: Excessive exposure to violent video games and other violent media has been linked to aggressive behavior in individuals with a pre-existing agressive behavior.”

  5. Somewhere Jack Thompson is throwing a huge party and praying that this bill get passed.
