This Week In Wii — Downloadable Edition

This week we will see three offerings come our way via the beauty of downloadable media.  So what has Nintendo decided to bestow upon us?  How about a kart racing game, some air hockey action and a classic Genesis shooter.  Here is the full breakdown

hvhrs_screen_12_main99High Voltage Hot Rod Show – Are you a fan of kart racing games?  Then this may be the game for you!  Coming from the same developer as the upcoming Wii first person shooter The Counduit, High Voltage Games is releasing Hot Rod Show for WiiWare.  The game features four player splitscreen and online leaderboard to help you hone your competitive edge.  It will be available for purchase for 1000 Wii Points ($10.00).  Check out the game footage below:

airhockeyFamily Glide Hockey – Those who are fans of air hockey will certainly be excited about the newest edition to the WiiWare Family.  Don’t worry about lack of variety because there are several differeing variations on the classic style of air hockey, while still retaining the retro roots.  The best part will surely be the four player multiplayer, all playable from the same couch.  For all you teachers out there, the game features a math skills minigame too!  Family Glide Hockey will be available for puchase for 500 Wii Points ($5.00).  Still not sure?  Here is some game footage to help you decide:

musha_coverartMUSHA – The SEGA Genesis managed to spawn many different classic schmups.  This one is among one of the more popular side scrolling shooters of the generation and now it is available for you to snag in its perfectly emulated glory.  If you are interested in reliving the days of your childhood, the game is available for purchase for 800 Wii Points ($8.00).
