This Week in Wii — Downloadable Edition

On the heels of last week’s triple dose of downloadable goodness, Nintendo has decided to throw us two nuggets of micro-gaming pleasure.  Once again we will see a Master System classic rise from the ashes, along with a creative new take on platforming.  Here is the full breakdown:

WiiWare

niki1216001Niki – Rock ‘n’ Ball – Have you been known to enjoy a good physics puzzle or two?  Try combining moderately difficult brain benders, with the complex world of platformers.  What do you get?  An amusingly fun mind teaser, that will leave you begging for more.  When you add in the Wii’s trademark gesture controls, you have a recipe for success.  The game will be available for purchase for 500 Wii Points ($5.00).  Check out the game’s footage below:

Virtual Console

wonder_boy_in_monsterlandWonder Boy in Monster Land – This sequel to an arcade classic, landed on the Sega Master System way back in 1987.  As a point of reference, that was only one year after I was born!  Now that your mind has been sufficiently blown, know that this was one of the first traditional RPGs available for the Master System.  So if you are up for a trip down memory lane, you can download this lost gem for a mere 500 Wii Points ($5.00)

Now that we have seen Nintendo dip into their back library a bit, what games would you like to see come to their download service?  Meanwhile, I am going to silently pray for Peggle to come to WiiWare…
