Last week we reported on a mysterious countdown that had appeared on the Final Fantasy 13 website.  It seems that all the fuss was over a brand new trailer, which you can now view here.  The mere fact that Square Enix would would go to such lengths to promote a trailer demonstrates the insane levels of excitement for the grand old man of the RPG genre.  This kind of stunt is hardly a new phenomenon however, with Bungie pulling a very similar kind of promotion for Halo back in September.

No firm release date has been set for Final Fantasy XIII which will be appearing on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, a first for the series.
