Metal Gear Online has become a run away hit and to keep the momentum going Konami has created a new “Welcome Rookie” Campaign. This campaign will reward all fans who register the Metal Gear Online retail version between Dec. 24, ’08 and Feb. 16, ’09 with a special MGO Codec Pack, that includes special voice content and 5,000 additional reward points that can be redeemed in the MGO in-game shop to purchase items for use in the game. The exclusive Welcome Rookie Campaign is only open to players who have not previously installed and registered the retail version of Metal Gear Online, which means there wont be any boosting for current players, unfortunately it also means current fans will be missing out on special content.
This is a great way to bring new players to MGO as most non-Metal Gear players or players who are new to the game tend to have difficulties jumping online with such a steep learning curve.
