Fans of family-friendly games are about to see a slate of new Hasbro-branded videogames on a “variety of platforms” from EA. Ready to bring back family game night, EA is gearing up to release the nostalgic fun of Hasbro into the Xbox LIVE Arcade. Under a Hasbro Family Game Night banner, the following games will begin to roll out in Spring of ‘09:

  • Boggle
  • Battleship
  • Yahtzee
  • Connect Four
  • SORRY!
  • SORRY! Sliders

“We believe our Hasbro Family Game Night channel on Xbox LIVE Arcade will be one of the most dynamic and fun collections available on the platform,” said Chip Lange, General Manager of EA Hasbro. “We’ve been given the unique opportunity to create an exclusive EA Hasbro branded destination within the Xbox LIVE Arcade so players can easily find and play our lineup family-friendly digital board games. Just as families have game closets in their home, they will also be able to stock a digital game closet serving up hours of interactive play for kids and adults alike.”

EA and Hasbro plan on releasing more titles as the year progresses, which means there should be plenty of family entertainment for everyone. Family gaming has grown substantially over the past couple of years. With the Wii coming in first place, it’s nice to see Xbox bringing in some family fun as well. I know as my kids get older I’ll be looking for games like this to help bring them into gaming, and it’s a great way for the family to get together with everyone’s busy lifestyle these days.

  1. Personally, I much prefer the tangible feel of physically playing these games, especially Yahtzee. Still, this kind of stuff could make your grandmother buy a 360…

    maybe…
