Guitar Hero: Metallica Setlist revealed

ghm

When you hear the word “Metallica” you think of fast, ear-catching guitar lines, seriously ill-drum fills,  and aggressive, in-your-face playing. Summing up, they are the epitome of badass-ery. Metallica is one of the most recognized and popular bands in the history of forever, so it just makes since they would get their own Guitar Hero title. Following the financial success of Aerosmith, (it made them more profit than any of thier albums, Sheesh!) Neversoft is giving the iconic rockers the same treatment. Taking the World Tour engine and giving it a metal makeover, Metallica will include all the features of the full game, including online play and the Music Studio(the latter of which will contain sounds sampled from the bands themselves). Metallica will even be cross-compatible with World Tour’s GHTunes service. What more can you ask for; an offical setlist? Here it is.

Today, the full setlist for Guitar Hero: Metallica was released. The tracks include the following 28 Metallica songs, all master tracks:

• “All Nightmare Long”
• “Battery”

• “Fight Fire With Fire”
• “For Whom The Bell Tolls”

• “The Thing That Should Not Be”
• “The Unforgiven”

Added to these metal hits are the following 21 tracks, all of which were handpicked by the members of Metallica:

• Corrosion of Conformity – “Albatross”

• Suicidal Tendencies – “War Inside My Head”
• System of a Down – “Toxicity”
• The Sword – “Black River”
• Thin Lizzy – “The Boys Are Back in Town”

This makes for a total of 49 songs, a bit more than the previously released Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

I’m going to hold off on the “repeated songs” rant for now, ( Battery and Enter Sandman are definitely there) and just breathe in all the anticipation. There are some seriously MONSTER tracks included here! Seek and Destroy, Master of Puppets, (sought after since the very 1st GH) and the rest are just making me drool with excitement. What’s more, the accompanying bands are simply insane as well. Judas Priest? Check. The Sword? Check. Slayer? Check. Queen? Hell yes. Metallica seems to be trying to excel  where Aerosmith disappointed: the difficulty. After 3 days in release, it was already FC’d. I think the chances of the same happening with Metallica are much slimmer, and with the ability to play all of these songs on all instruments, even the heaviest of Heavy Metal fans should be satisfied for a good long time.
Metallica is slated for release sometime in March.
