Electronic Arts Announces EA Sports Active

ea-sports-activeIt looks like EA is jumping on the Wii Fit bandwagon as they announce their newest addition to the EA family, EA Sports Active.  While the game does utilize the balance board in a similar manner to Nintendo’s Wii Fit, the game is far from a clone.  In fact, under most circumstances the balance board isn’t even necessary.

EA Sports Active was designed with the help of popular author and exercise physiologist Bob Greene, to utilize the unique control scheme that the Wii has to offer, creating the most complete workout experience available in a game.  Featuring over twenty different exercises, there should be enough variety to keep you busy and burning calories for a long time.

So look out Wii Fit, EA Sports Active is gunning for you when they release in Spring of this year.  Check out the debut trailer below:

    This actually looks like it would make more of a difference than Wii Fit.. IMO
