Eduardo the Samurai Toaster Makes the Jump from PC to WiiWare

largeThough the name may sound a bit strange, Eduardo the Samurai Toaster is a name that may be familiar to those involved in the PC gaming scene.  Developed by indy developer Semnat Studios, Eduardo the Samurai Toaster is a 2D shooter in the same vein as the classic Contra titles.  The game is very much a nod to the retro classics, while still bringing a cartoonish and exaggerated visual style that we have come to expect from the current generation of console games.

Taking a page from the development book of studios like The Behemoth, Semnat Studios integrates their own unique brand of hand-drawn sprites into the game’s animations.  So what kind of enemies can you expect to see in a game that features an ass kicking toaster?  Just imagine an encounter where you can throw down against spear chucking carrots, mutant pastries, and even robotic mangoes.  That is about as unique as it gets!

[Yet another example of the innovation happening under our very hardcore gaming noses - Ed.]

When the game comes out later this year, you and three of your closest pals will be able to play co-op in this hunt for pastry supremacy!  Look for our full review once the game becomes available for download on the WiiWare platform.
