The Show steps up to the plate this time around, giving plenty of extras and improving on previous attributes to the series. An all new interactive training mode will be added to the field, helping increase player abilities and performance in a variety of skill sets. Franchise mode will also get revamped, adding items such as salary arbitration and September call-ups. MLB 09 The Show will also be introducing Online Season Leagues to allow players to hold fully functional drafts and utilize a flex schedule, allowing players to game ahead of the schedule. Gamers will also be able to access a new Roster Vault where they will be able to tweak player attributes, appearance and accessories allowing gamers to create their dream roster. The ever so popular Road to the Show feature will be returning as well, giving fans the chance to play offense or defense and immerse themselves in a custom-created player’s perspective. This lets players work their way up to through coaching and training with a shot at the big leagues.
Trying to raise the overall level of detail and realism The Show will offer fully customizable jumbotron animations, fan chants and crowd atmosphere. End of game replays are also available to provide players with an instant post-game report including all of the exciting plays just like a true MBL broadcast. Players will also beable to create custom music tracks that can be played throughout gameplay, which include batter walk-up tunes. “The MLB franchise has been recognized as the industry leader in terms of realism and overall gameplay and we’re looking to stay at the forefront by taking it to another level with MLB 09 The Show,” said Scott A. It’s obvious that Sony is doing its best to up the ante for baseball fans everywhere. The amount of customizable options is simply insane! The visuals are looking pretty good so far as well.
