Future, a special-interest media group that works out of both the UK and US, has teamed up with Sony Computer Entertainment to create an exclusive newspaper set in the alternative 1950s timeline of Resistance 2.
The newspaper was originally conceived by Futer360, Future’s in-house creative solutions team, with the calling of arms to all gamers and film enthusiasts. Sony hopes the paper will help bring more gamers to ‘the resistance’. Including a full report on the Chimera attack, a call to action from the President, history of the game (in context of Resistance 2), 1950s style faux advertising, letters, horoscope and crossword.
This newspaper has been deemed “highly collectable and engaging,” with only 550,000 copies being distributed in total. Seeing how there are millions of gamers on the PS3, this unique paper should be a nice touch to anyone’s gaming collection.
For those of you interested in picking this one up, keep your heads up when you go to the movies, as Sony will be distributing the newspapers in branded dumpbins at cinemas around the country throughout early December.

Brilliant marketing tactics. Sony is getting pretty good at this viral marketing thing.
they should have been running these ads and more like a month or so before release and still have them running now through the holidays. Better late then never I guess.
