Konami has announced that the latest DLC for Metal Gear Online. It is to be titled MEME Expansion and set to release on the 25th of November.
The MEME Expansion adds two new characters to the mix, which are playable for the first time ever. Liquid Ocelot enters with the ability to manipulate the Sons of the Patriots’ lock system using his Guns of the Patriots skills, and can also deactivate the weaponry of a targeted enemy. Stopping the opposition dead in their tracks with useless weapons will make for interesting fire fights. Mei Ling also comes into play with the ability to use the Trench Mortar, Soliton Sonar capabilities, and is also able to transfix enemies. These abilities should change up the gameplay quite a bit as players are paralyzed on the battlefield.
Three new maps will also be introduced to the online mayhem. Silo Susnet will contain rough, uneven industrial elements. This type of environment will add hectic battles and have players trying to work together to cover each other’s backs as enemies can come from all angles. Forest Firefight has dense foliage that will make it easy to sneak up on hostiles and keep players alert throughout the entire fight. Winter Warehouse is in the middle of a snow storm. Centered around a deserted factory, visibility should be an interesting aspect of this level as players fight to survive the storm.
The expansion will also implements a new set of rules, which are already available without the MEME Expansion. A new ‘No Headshot‘ setting allows players to attribute the same amount of damage when shot in the head to that of a regular body shot. ‘Stealth Death Match‘ Allows players to compete with the stealth elements automatically switched on. While the new ‘Interval‘ allows players to practice and chat with each other without their ranking or records being affected. All of this comes alongside a new Tournament Lobby that has been created to pit players in a battle for points that can be spent on customization of their character or new gear. New gear includes the fan favorite Crocodile Cap, Ghillie Suite camo, and an afro hair style.
Metal Gear fans will be able to pre-purchase the MEME Expansion starting November 18th. However, they will not be able to access the expansion until after the official start on November 25th.
