Dead Space Prequel

0 Comments 20 November 2008 | Tags: , ,

All of you out there who have run through the zero G horrors of Dead Space may want to take note. In association with Image Comics, the hard book comic titled “Dead Space” will hit comic book stores nationwide today. You’ll also be able to pick up this book of screams by the end of the month at Amazon.com, Border’s and Barnes and Noble.

The Dead Space hard book serves as a prequel story for the videogame, detailing the gut-wrenching story of the deep space mining colony that unearths the marker and releases the atrocious alien life from within. The hard book combines all six Dead Space comics written by Antony Johnson and illustrated by Ben Templesmith with exclusive cover art by Templesmith, an exclusive bonus art section, and a background section on the major characters.

Dead Space the videogame has conjured up 29 critic awards, delivering the best psychological thrills and action to date. For those of you who have yet to run through this one, it’s set 500 years in the future, following the main protagonist Isaac Clarke and a small repair team as they undergo many tests of survival aboard the USG Ishimura. Brought on board by a distress signal only to find a living nightmare once on board.

If you liked the game and are into comics, then this is a must buy for you. The backstory to Dead Space is an amazing one. I would recommend staying away from the video comics if you haven’t seen them yet. But if you’ve already seen the video comics this book will still be enticing with its bonus art and extra background on the main characters of the videogame.
