Codemasters announces ‘DiRT 2′

The people at Codemasters have just released a statement that a sequel to 2007′s dirty hit game is now in development. This time around, everyone has a chance to get a little dirty, because the title will be released for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Nintendo DS, and PSP. While I’m sure that it wont be nearly as impressive on the portable systems as the home consoles, having another racing game in your portable library doesn’t sound like a bad idea. The game is touted to have many diverse arenas and tracks to race through, such as canyons and jungles, and has a new damage engine, and even touched-up physics. DiRT 2 will run on the EGO engine, and Codemasters was so bold as to say that it will feature cars and tracks twice as detailed as GRID.

This is some exciting news for some people, and I’m sure Codemasters will deliver a fine finished product, but if DiRT 2 is in development now, planned for release in 2009, where does that leave Fuel? We don’t know, but hopefully these screens can tide you over until any more news comes tumbling in.
