Coming to the XBLA is a side-scroller that can only be described as “interesting.” Cletus Clay, developed by Tuna Technologies, is about a hick defending his farmland from endless onslaughts of alien life. Cletus, and a second co-op player, have access to an arsenal that includes pitchforks, shotguns, dynamite, mini-guns, flame throwers, grenade launchers and alien ray guns. Using these weapons, you must defeat all the aliens in each of the game’s 12 levels. Here’s the kicker: the entire game is made from clay. That’s right, each of the characters, animations, and environments were made by hand using clay-mation. The game looks great, needless to say, and:
The whole game is presented in HD: you can even see the thumb prints on the models!
Just from hearing that alone, you can tell how much effort went into bringing this game to life. We’ll let you know more about this game once we get nearer to it’s 2009 release.
