Every Sunday our editors get jacked up on caffeine (or Monday if not enough caffeine was available – eep!) and take you for a stroll down memory lane. Most people like to look back at precious annual commemorative dates, like anniversaries, birthdays, and the annual party commemorating that nasty rash you got at Joe’s BBQ party.
Instead, we’re here to prove to people over 50 that MTV has indeed ruined our attention span — we can’t wait to look back at the past WEEK. So, hurry up, here it is, the Weekly Rewind!
Sony PS3 Evil:
- The PS3 had a massive release day this past week, as well as a new firmware update.
- Prince of Persia Classic dashes its way onto the PSN, and we also review NBA Live 09.
360 Evil:
- Our Call of Duty: World At War “beetah” code contest ends today; get your comments in now.
- Activision unveils “Secret Service, and RockBand is calling Dr. Feelgood as the latest DLC.
- Obama campaigns in today’s next-gen titles, but is his campaign condescending to gamers?
Portable Evil:
- Phantasy Star and Kingdom Hearts are on their way to the Sony PSP, which just got a firmware update.
- Imangi Word Squares and Rock N Roll are reviewed by our Evil staff, and found to be good.
- A bunch of iPhone games drop their prices, and LED Basketball appears in the App store – retrotastic!
- Oh, and did you hear? Dragon Quest IX is coming to a DS near you.
Retro Evil:
- A hybrid RPG-Party game, Dokapon Kingdom was previewed
- A chance to play like you are in Only the Strong comes to the PS2 in the form of Martial Arts-Capoeria (By the way the answer to the triva question of Zoom, is indeed Only the Strong and that song in the Nissan ads was taken from that movie
- Being able to play whole levels of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 kept it from being one of Fanky Malloon’s favorites from this weeks’ Retro Confessional
Wii Evil
- Martial Arts Capoeira is coming to the Wii and a ton of other platforms soon
- The first six tracks for Wii Music are confirmed, but fail to ignite the passion of our commenters, while the sales of this new game fail to ignite the passion of game buyers.
