Alright guys only 10 villians could be picked so dont be upset if the ones you thought deserved to be on the list, weren’t. These villians are well deserved and I believe sephiroth should be at the top. Great game, great character, great villain. But I do think some characters were more deserving to be on the list than others. Ganon, wesker, pyramid head, and dracula were all some of my favorite ones. either way this list is okay in my opinion. Only a few I don’t agree with

Damn really….it is what it is…..and that is…..Sephiroth is the best villian ever. Why? Lets see, he has a purpose and a reason for what he does, and he is not some damn clown trying to get attention. He took out the key figure in a game, a decendent from the ancients, and when he did that, there is not one person in this forum who mouth did not drop. He aided the hero, because he knew there was no way that he could best him, not only that, he manipulated him the whole game. He made you hate him. Also, he has a finishing move called……SUPER NOVA. It takes out EVERYTHING. Planets, stars, hell, it even took out the planet formally known as pluto. Oh, and the #1 reason why he is the best villian in a game of all time……he single handedly spawned the biggest band of HATERS any villian has ever seen. Now……with all those haters……if he is not the best, then please tell…..who is? :) peace.__

I lol'd at "Portal (Xbox 360)" Portal is on the PC, not 360! Yes I do know the Orange box is also on Xbox 360, but it wasn't ported till 2007! Portal was on PC first, so change that please.
Also, Emperor Griffon from Dark Cloud 2 and Gary from Bully.
Emperor Griffon is just pure evil. He goes ten thousand years back in time to erase the world's origin point. Now that's just evil. And when that fails he tries to smash the moon into you!
Gary is weak even though he's the final boss, but he had a cunning plan. Go play the game and see what I mean.

Sephiroth is overrated. He killed a bunch of people and wanted to damage the planet to become powerful. Meh. This top ten seems to be very console heavy, needs more PC games.

Where is Diablo? He corrupted your character so that by the time you fought through his legions you just ended up doing exactly what he wanted by putting the soulstone in your head so he could have corrupt a more powerful body. He doesn't do evil things, he IS evil incarnate.
Kerrigan, or how about the Zerg Overmind?
Kane from the C&C series?
Lets not forget the Burning Legion and their master(s).

Nemesis was a good pick, should be higher on the list, he was very memorable. The prophet from Halo? I lol'd. Malak was alright, does he deserve a spot in the top 10 of video game villains? Not really.

Sephiroth takes the no 1 spot of any list of villains because of the way the writers handle him. Not only does he have the greatest introduction into a game – the trail of blood – but he has the ability to control the main character telepathically, which is a true menace to Cloud. He also kills Aerith, and thereby ensures, that even once he is defeated, things won't go back to good, as they did in FF VI.
