Fable 2 Limited Edition scaled back – Gamers compensated with free album

0 Comments 01 October 2008

In a post on the Fable 2 Development blog Microsoft have announced that “due to supply chain issues” changes have been made to the Fable 2 Limited Collector’s Edition package.

Originally the package had been confirmed as including a “premium box”, 5 printed fate cards and a Hobbe figure, all of which are no longer available.  Instead the revised Limited Edition will now include:

  • Fable 2 Game Disc (that’s a relief)
  • Bonus ‘Making-of’ DVD
  • Bonus in-game downloadable content: ‘The Hall of the Dead’ dungeon, ‘The Wreckager’ legendary cutlass weapon, Spartan armor and energy sword.

The original price point of $79.99 has been revised to $69.99.

To appease Fable 2 fans Microsoft have put together a free Fable album available for all to download, consisting of a selection of music from the original Fable as well as 3 new tracks from Fable 2.  The album can be downloaded, for a limited time, from 9am PST on Oct 6th by visiting http://www.sumthingdigital.com and entering promotional code ‘FableCollection’.

Fable 2 is due for release on Xbox 360 Oct 21st in North America & Asia, Oct 24th in Europe.
