We just spotted a report at Variety with drastically different details about the AC/DC Track Pack that’s been blazing through our site and many others.
It’s a game?
Instead of a standard downloadable track pack, the 18 tracks of classic live AC/DC hits is a retail package available exclusively in the US at Walmart.
The price? $39 big ones. Unfortunately you won’t be able to actually play as AC/DC, nor will you be able to play these tracks online.
We acknowledge that it’s a smart marketing move as MTV tries to establish Rock Band as more than a game, but a facet of the music industry. But paying MORE for these tracks while not having the ability to play online is, frankly, baffling.
What do you think about this?

This “game” fails. I don’t even have to play it. As if it wasn’t bad enough that we got what amounted to an expansion pack for Guitar Hero III with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith… now we get this crap instead of the DLC package that it should rightfully be.
Save your $39.88 and avoid that frightening trip to Wal-Mart. No freaking sale.
I am with Peter on this one. GH:Aerosmith was a glorified Track Pack and this makes less sense. No Online? No Angus Young Outfit? I’ll pass.
*sigh* and I was looking forward to singing “Back In Black”. Oh well, this definitely wont fly.
