New Clubs and Stadiums Confirmed for PES 2009
Following the recent announcement that both Manchester United and Liverpool will appear in PES 2009 as fully licensed teams, Konami have today confirmed a number of additional clubs that will join them in their complete authentic glory.
Among the confirmed clubs are Spanish giants F.C. Barcelona and Real Madrid, Italian Champions Inter Milan, Portugal’s F.C. Porto, Denmark’s Brondby IF and last season’s UEFA Cup winners Zenit. St Petersburg. The French Lique 1 and the Dutch Eredivisie both feature full and complete licensing. A selection of national sides have also been given the ‘licensed treatment’ - among them are Nothern Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands - as well as a host of stadiums including Wembley, Stade de France and the Stadio Olimpico di Torino.
Add to this mix the four-year licensing agreement Konami reached with UEFA to feature the European Champion’s League and you’ve yourself a nice looking package for one of the genre’s premier titles.
PES 2009 is due for release on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC on October 17th in Europe, with the US release following in early November. Playstation 2 and PSP versions are set for a November release in Europe with a Wii version expected sometime in 2009.
