Sony Announcements at Leipzig

three, three, three versions of one!

Some new announcements from Sony at the German Games Convention

New PSP 3000, with an enhanced screen, built in microphone, Skype and Go!Messenger. Wil not replace the PSP Lite or Slim models, and will run €199, or $235 (conversion to US Dollars is ours; the convention is in Germany).

New PS3 models: 80GB PS3 this week and a limited edition 160GB PS3 scheduled for the end of October for a RRP of €449 ($735)

Sony is pitching the 160GB model at “those of you out there with an insatiable thirst for downloadable content and an unquenchable need for storage space.” Because, you know, none of us are like that.

They also announced a new music video streaming service for the PS3, The ability to play SingStar songs from PS2 on the PS3, and talked about Heavy Rain, which is supposed to change gaming as we know it. Sure it will.

All in all, some cool new incremental updates to Sony gaming hardware, yes?
